Quiet Chaos is the first large oil painting I completed in my new landscape series that explore landscapes as a container for experience. I wanted to find a way to translate all of the experiences that come with mountain landscapes into paint. The feeling, emotions, and sounds. I've always felt that being out in nature is so quiet but if you stop and listen you can hear so much more going on. Birds, small critters, wind, water... so even when it is quiet there is some chaos to pay attention to.
